There are several places to eat near Walcot House. We have prepared a list of places to eat and drink nearby with phone numbers and other useful information.

The New Forest is a wonderful place to explore, whether walking, cycling or by car. There are hidden paths to find amongst the many types of tress or open heath land where you can see the New Forest ponies, donkeys and deer as well as many different species of birds. The local attractions and photos listed below have been taken within 3 miles of Walcot House except for Hythe which is 4 miles away. Close by are several ponds for fishing.

Gang Warily is a recreation ground less than a mile away with an indoor gym & courts and has outdoor grounds with a great play area for young children. It also has a fishing pond and hosts outdoor events from cycling and even an annual circus.

 

Ashlett Creek with its tidal mill, sailing club, Jolly Sailor pub and unusual costal path.

Calshot Activity Centre has a wide range of activities especially for the more adventurous with indoor climbing walls, a velodrome, a dry ski slope and is also a centre for water sports. There is a pebble beach and is a great place to see the cruise ships entering or leaving Southampton waters, especially from Calshot castle.

Lepe Beach is also close by at the Lepe Country Park, with plenty of parking, play areas, coastal walks and a café.

Exbury Gardens changes with the seasons and is famous for its azaleas and rhododendrons

Bealieau, with it's stately home and grounds, also has the famous national motor museum which hosts many events throughout the year.

The lovely Hythe village is just 4 miles away, with its small streets, shops, pubs and restaurants. It has a marina and a ferry which can take you into the heart of Southampton.
